1989 BMW 3 Series review from Australia and New Zealand
"The most fun you can have for little money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Head gasket blew due to radiator hose coming off when driving along, unaware that there was a problem.
Replaced radiator with a larger one as mine was 25% blocked.
Replaced all radiator and coolant hoses with brand new items.
Replaced the engine with one that had done a lot less miles, however replaced oil seals, cambelt, tensioner, waterpump before putting the engine in.
General comments?
The most fun car I've ever had.
With the headers, ECU chip, lightened flywheel etc this car now does 140mph and 0-60mph in less than 7 seconds.
This is a car for the enthusiast, not the average person looking for a cheap runner, as paying someone to fix this model will soon cost you a small fortune.
I've had a lot of cars over the years, but this is my favourite. I now have 2x of them due to liking them so much.
