1988 BMW 3 Series 325i review from North America
"Not your white trash American car from the 80's!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing is really wrong with the car. You can tell just by driving it that BMW made these cars to last.
The idle is a little unstable, possibly due to throttle position sensor needing adjusting or the idle sensor needing to be replaced.
General comments?
I LOVE this car. I have owned a 1987 Camaro (white trash car) that was a piece of crap, a Ford Bronco (offroading white trash car), a 1983 Mazda RX-7 (pretty cool car) and a 1969 VW Bug (still have it, but looking to sell the tin can on wheels).
No other car I have ever owned or driven has the acceleration, handling or comfort of the 325. I don't care what anybody says, if you want to get a car that isn't going to spend most of it's time at the shop and that IS actually fun to drive, this car has it.
The old lady I bought this from (for $2000.00) didn't know what she had on her hands. It has all the options (of the time) along with leather interior (still in great shape), a convertible top (that seems like it is brand new) and the original paint that looks like it has just rolled off the assembly line. Even the engine compartment looks brand new.
Bottom line is that this model of car is a driver's dream. Front to back and side to side; more attention to detail went into making this car than nearly anything on the road!
