1982 BMW 3 Series 323i review from UK and Ireland
"Enigmatic under rated beast!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Just routine maintenance during my very long ownership, such as
water pump,
radiator,
exhaust system,
tyres,
batteries
Clutch
Clutch Master cylinder
Cam Belt
etc etc.
General comments?
This car is the best car I've ever owned, incredibly robust, very reliable, excellent handling, easy to work on, beuatiful noise, more characterful than Alfas I've owned, more reliable than Porsche's I've owned.
After 16 years of ownership I know these cars well.
The worst aspect is that in standard form the handling can be tricky in the wet, especially for the front wheel drive generation. And also the E21 is so under rated it seriously deserves so much more credit than it receives, compared to it's over hyped predecessor and it's over rated successor.
