These cars have a weakness in the radiators, the plastic bottle part of the rad tend to fail.
This led to to a new rad, water pump and viscose bearing.
The back diff "weeps"
Upholstery wore badly compared to cars of a comparable age.
Overall I am very pleased with this car.
Other than the above mentioned problems
it has proven to be a very reliable comfortable car that shows its true merits on longer journeys.
I use this car every day on a round trip of 70 miles to work and also on week ends
the 6 cylinder engine sounds great, but fuel economy averages low 30's even with my conservative motorway driving and 15" 205 tyres.
The 520i is and excellent build and an economical executive to own, however at times it is nice though to have those extra horses under the bonnet.
But if you're not a boy racer then hey, it's a lovely buy.
205" tires, What? you must be a boy racer.
