1983 BMW 5 Series 528e review from North America
"Not too bad for a $1000"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Front drivers side strut broke
speedometer does not work
sunroof cable broke
taillights and fuses go bad often.
General comments?
This is a good reliable car, the only time I have gotten stranded on the side of the road was when the strut broke making the spring rub the inside of the tire making it unable to drive home. The sunroof cable broke when it was open so I was unable to close it making me have to patch it with a floor mat and duct tape until I could get it fixed. It is great on gas and has enough power to keep up with traffic and maybe then some.
