The Self-leveling suspension leaked when I got it fixed it my self.
Driving light's didn't work (previous owner had the wiring done by a amature)
and the sub-frame bussings wore out at about 300.k
the driver's seat is twisted and the leather is torn
the head gasket blew at 315.000km.
Well I have had my ups and downs with this car, but mostly because of my own mistakes. this is the most comfortable car I have owned, and because it's an IL it has plenty of space in the back (IL stands for an extra 15cm leg room in the back)
The performance is good and it is surprisingly nimble for a car it's size, never a problem to park at the local super-market even though it has small parking spaces...
I've learned a lot since I bought this car and it's become a part of my family, today I'm scouting the market for a bigger version (750), my girlfriend will drive around in this one after I get the 750 so it will remain in the family. I hope to still have it when I grow older and have kids, so that I can pass it on.
I advise you to not buy the 750, it is a maintenance whore. You will be much better off with another 6 cylinder or maybe the 740 V8.
Everyone's experience with the 750 is going to be different. I actually think it happens to be a very good car. The older BMW's have a quality/character about themselves that newer Beemers seem to have lost over time.
