1993 BMW 8 Series 850 CSi review from Germany
"A high performance GT, built for crossing Europe in comfort. Use it as designed and you will not be"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
A bad relay caused the windscreen washer to fail.
New clutch required at 147000 km.
General comments?
A fantastic car. Even though my car is almost 11 years old it still looks and drives like it's almost brand new. The styling has not dated, and I get people asking if it's the new 6 series!
The cabin is very comfortable and luxurious. The switchgear looks a little dated (no iDrive!) but none the worse for that.
The rear seats are best used as a very well upholstered luggage space! People can fit in them, but they won't be your friends for long! Use only as a last resort.
The car is very fast, and very stable at Autobahn speeds. However, it's big and heavy and has a V12, so it drinks petrol. I get about 18mpg from it... acceptable if you're not driving it stop/start short journeys every day.
