1975 BMW CS Coupe review from Belgium

When I bought it:

Lot of rust all around he bodywork:

sills, top of the inner front wings, part of the floor and boot had to be rebuilt.

The carburetors and advance needed a bit of tuning.

During owning.

...nothing except normal maintenance for such an old car that is used as an everyday car.

First, I bought it because of its pure lines. I intended to by a 323i, but when I saw it, it was love at first sight.

Then I dismounted it and discovered the rust. After one year work, it was back on the road.

Great car to drive on the dry... awful on the wet. It really handle well on the dry, even with the poor tires that are mounted on the car (nearly lorry tire) but they have the advantage to prevent before slipping. It corners fast and is quite stable at high speed. On the wet, it's mister Hide, even in third gear it spins in strait line!

It have only four gears so it's a bit noisy on motorways, but it have the advantage to be always in the good revs to accelerate, so I'm often faster than modern cars and with the fourth gear that can be driven from 50 km/h to 210 km/h (no joke, I made it) it's really a comfortable engine to use.

The interior, even if it look a bit old, is still in very good state and comfortable too. Commands are few, but enough and easy to manipulate.

I would recommend it to anybody whose looking for a non ordinary car, a bit out of time, but it usually needs money or time (or both) to be put in good state.
