I owned a 2001 X5 4.4 and finally traded it in since the manufacture warranty was about to expire in a couple months and there was no way I would be able to afford service/fix it any more. I must say I loved driving it when it was not in the shop. My absolute dream car however it went into the shop over 30 times in the past few years with having 40,000 - 80,000 plus miles on it. Replaced gaskets, alternator, cd player (1,000 not under warranty), electrical head light casings (some electrical kept burning out the bulb), coolant level always low so a major repair was done to that, etc

. The list goes on and many times items were replaced more than once. I am not sure if others have had the same type of problems. I now drive a new infiniti. Hopefully I will have better luck.
