1998 BMW Z3 Roadster review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
1,500 miles, loose clip on coolant hose resulted in a long wait for the breakdown service. Just as well I saw the steam before it ran out of coolant !!
35,000 miles, warning light for air bags/seat belt came on.. Replacement of seatbelt tensioning device necessary.
General comments?
Comments made after 1 year and 38,000 miles.
Sticks to the road like glue.
1.9 quick but underpowered for the chassis.
Standard seats lack support.
I am 6 foot 2, 170lbs. No real problems in fitting. Left leg rests against unpadded edge of the centre console which is uncomfortable on long trips. Right elbow rests on unpadded arm rest on the door, again uncomfortable. Radio hard to hear above 65 mph.
BUT... with the hood down on a sunny day pottering along the country roads... Well what can one say!
By the way I have had quite a few requests to be 'taken for a ride' !!
