"Major lemon"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I've had the fuel injectors cleaned 3 times.

All 6 fuel injectors had to be replacedonly.

Coils.

Leaking gasket's.

Fuel filers.

Electrical switches.

And the list goes on.

General comments?

I bought my 1999 Buick in the summer of 2004. it had 1 owner (an older man) and low mileage. I've had this car for 25 months now and about every 4 months something major has gone wrong with it. I've had the fuel injectors cleaned 3 times and then ended up having to replace all 6 fuel injectors which by the way had to be done only as each one went out so it was 3 different times in 2 moths just to fix that. other things to name a few are coils, leaking gasket's, fuel filers, electrical switches and the list goes on. It the past 25 months I've spent $2,688.00 in repairs not to mention the $2,000.00 I dished out for the extended warranty. if I had not gotten the warranty the total cost I would have been stuck with for repairing this car is over $9,000.00. that's so far and again just yesterday I was having engine problems again and my warranty ends in about 6,000 more miles.

I had researched this car before buying it and read that it was rated very high and Buick it self was #1 among American built cars.

At this point I don't know what to do, I've already spent so much to get it fixed maybe my problems are over with it now and trading it in could be a bigger loss or maybe this car is just a lemon and I was the not so lucky one.

Hi, I am a huge fan of Buicks, I have driven a 1988 Buick LeSabre Custom for 5 years, and then it was stolen sadly, and returned with too much to repair. But all and all, it ran great for 5 years, very few troubles.

Then I got a 1990 Buick Century Limited, and I like the look and the fact the the body was all metal, just like the 1988, but this one had a bad motor, it let me sit a collective total of twice in two months, and hour each time, she refused to start.

After 3 months I traded it in for a 1999 Buick Century custom, and I purchased that at low mileage, and 7 years old, one owner (older folks), and it's been running great.

The first year I had it the gaskets leaked, and just this year I had another, so after 3 years I have had three leaking gaskets, and several lights in the back blowing out, but all and all, no major or minor engine trouble.

I am obviously a Buick fan and in fact my next car will be another Buick, of course. But I wanted you to know you probably just got a bad one that just needs a little TLC, as all and all, Buick is great car and reliable.
