My head gaskets blew at 55000 odd miles about two weeks after I got it.
Drivers side window mechanism is worn and doesn't always go up or down.
Back passenger window motor doesn't work.
The automatic antenna motor doesn't work.
Hood needs repainted. And need to touch up tiny dime sized rust spots in a few places on the car.
Front brakes need to be replaced soon, as does the muffler.
This car handles, and can get going pretty well for a big boat of a car.
Looks best with white wall tires.
Mine just has AM-FM stereo system.
It has side lights when you kick on the turn signal, so you can see where you're turning better at night. Which I was told came as a extra feature.
Head liner was replaced before I got her. Interior is very nice other than a couple stains I haven't tried to get out yet, and a couple cracks in the drivers side door vinyl.
Power seats, power windows, power steering.
It's just a great car, big green beast... I've gotten a lot of looks driving it. It's ideal for the large man, since I'm 6'5 it's ideal, other than I have to watch the hazard lights, because I hit it with my knee on the way out of the car from time to time.
Gas mileage isn't the best, but the comfort and style overwhelms that... Mostly.
I'm also looking for the 8-track player that would come with this model, if anyone has one or knows where I can get one, please comment.
The '77 was the first year for the downsized Electra; the last real "boats" were the '76 models.
You can find 8-track players all over e-bay, they are a dime a dozen.
Anyone know where I can get a locking gas cap for my electra 225? stock one.. not a crappy new one. thanks...
-Pete.
Can anyone help me source moldings for the rear quarter window on the 1977 electra 2 door.
