2000 Buick LeSabre LTD review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I sent this email to Consumer Reports today. Thought you might be interested.
We have a 2000 Buick LeSabre. About six months ago one of the back windows ceased to function. We had to pull it up by hand in order to close it, but it would slide open whenever we drove on a rough road. We eventually took it to be repaired at cost of $465. Last week the other back window mechanism broke in the same manner. This led me to search the Internet to see if I could find other folks with the same problem. I eventually found the following website: http://www.carsurvey.org/viewcomments_review_52823.html. This website lists comments from 66 different people who have all had the same problem. They range from December 2003 up to just a few days ago. Well, 66 isn't that many when you consider how many Buick LeSabres have been built since the year 2000 until you think about many we don't know about. I don't know how many LeSabre owners with this problem would have discovered this site and left any comments. I would think it may only be a few percent. We're probably talking about thousands of incidents of this problem. If you read the comments, some of the people have tried to get Buick to issue a Recall but they refuse. I would think that this is not only a design problem but is also a safety problem. Any help Consumers Reports can give would be greatly appreciated.
