How exactly does an ignition module or a power window failure cause a fatal accident??

I have a 2000 LeSabre Limited and my passenger window just dropped as well. Looks like I am the latest victim.

I would love to figure out how to take the door apart, raise the window and keep it up, but I cannot find any type of instructions online. After reading all of the postings, I am now afraid to use any of the windows.

I inherited a 2001 Buick LaSabre with 17, 000 miles on it... I'm really dissatisfied with the power windows.

Today I now had my third power window go out, I lost my drivers side, the drivers side rear, and now the front passenger window went out. Also, if these window motors are defective, why in the world are they still selling them... This cost will be over 2,000 dollars to keep replacing these defective windows.

I plan to file a suit against Buick to get my money for this inferior product... if anyone knows numbers that matter, please let me know, it will save me leg work..thanks.

I finally unloaded my Buick LeSabre because of the power window problems and bought a Toyota Camry hybrid. This is the first time in 30 years I bought a Japanese car. GM really blew it on not handling this problem because I will never buy a GM vehicle again because of their basic dishonesty. I am not surprised that GM is in financial trouble and why they command no loyalty from their customers. It's automobile Karma.

This is my third window (the left rear) that I've had problems with in my 2000 Le Sabre. The other two I had to pay the dealer $500 each to repair. I won't pay another $500 - I'll either repair it myself or sell the car. I presently have stuck a stick inside the door to prop the window up. Certainly Buick knows there is a problem.

Own a 2000 Buick LeSabre, bought new. Wonderful car but like others, all of the window motors have had to be replaced. Usually, the motors have just stopped functioning... for no apparent reason. To check for power, I often would test the non-working motors by directly connecting them to 12volt..would not make a difference. After market window regulators and motors are now available for about $50 in total and they are not hard to replace for a reasonably skilled do it yourself-er. Always lived in the Dallas area so cold weather hasn't been the problem... other than that, great car.

I bought a nice 2000 LeSabre from a family member in 2004.

The first window went out while we were on vacation, so we used a beach towel for a window for about a week. This cost about $450 to repair. I have had each window repaired at least once. This past week the drivers side window fell down 90 miles from home on a freezing day. I have been able to get a replacement part from a wrecking company for about $80, but the labor to repair them is about $200.00.

I think General Motors needs to look at this problem and have a recall. I had no luck getting any help from them. The quality of their parts is one reason they are in trouble today.

My car has only 65000 miles on it and has been well taken care of, but I can't deal with another year of replacing power window regulators. I would like to sale or trade, but the word is out on the poor quality and costly repair of the power windows. Besides, who wants a car that you can't put the windows up and down.

My mother-in-law bought a 2000 Buick LaSabre brand new. She had the rear driver-side window replaced in 2003. When she had to give up driving, she gave the car to me. It is a beautiful car with every add-on you can imagine,,, it is the nicest car I have ever owned. But the window situation is ridiculous! Both back windows have been replaced. The front passenger side has been replaced twice and as of today, so has the driver side! Each time I was told that the assemblage doesn't do well in the Florida heat but I see by reading here that is just a big fat lie. I was able to get two of them fixed by the dealership for $100 each as a "courtesy" but the other ones cost me in the $460 area. I will NEVER buy another GM product again! We had a 1997 Ford Taurus with 123,000 miles on it and never replaced one window. Maybe there is another Ford in my future!

We owned a 1998 Buick Century and replaced both back windows. In January 2008 we replaced the A/C module regulator at a cost of $900 and this again failed in December 2008. We traded the car in with only 39,000 miles on it for a 2009 Ford Fusion.

I also own a 2003 Buick Le Sabre with 46,000 miles. I really like the car but have replaced two window mechanisms at a cost of $698 each and now my driver's window will not work. This will be the last GM product for me. I've owned at least 20 new GM products in my 79 years.

I bought my 2000 LeSabre Limited in 2006 with 80,000 miles on it. I love my car, but I have had to have 2 of the window motors replaced and now a third one is out. Also my heated seat on the drivers side went out at 86,000 miles, and also my gas gauge doesn't work properly. I have really enjoyed this vehicle, but would not buy another one.

I have a 2000 Buick Le Sabre, 36,000 miles. My rear window just stopped working and the passenger window is working occasionally. It looks like I joined the club...

It took a while to remove the door cover - I bet the "engineer" who designed this never worked on it.

After having 3 windows drop I felt like I had the worst luck. Now having read these posts I see everyone who has a Buick has bad luck with the Windows. I took the doors apart put in a wood prop and I'm set. I noticed the problem is cheap plastic that has shattered. When you connects a metal cable to cheap plastic it will break. To recall the windows would mean the govt bailout "your taxes" will be used to fix them. How will the GM bosses get their big bonuses "your taxes" if they have to fix our cars? Get yourself a 28" piece of wood. Make small groove on the top and prop up the window. Than drive it like you stole it. And at the drive thru make sure you can open your door.

If you honestly think GM is going to recall this you are kidding yourself. Even if the company wasn't facing possible bankruptcy, which they are. This problem would never be recalled. GM only does recalls for life threatening faults. By the way, This model hasn't even been produced by Buick for nearly five years.

I just returned from the GM dealership with the shocking price of almost $1300.00 to fix the passenger side windows (front and back) on my 2000 Buick LaSabre. The drivers side went out last year and it was $600.00. These cars were not cheap when new and I am really disappointed that GM has failed to stand behind their vehicles with the defective windows. If there were just a few complaints, I could understand them not responding, but in researching the problem, there is hundreds of dissatisfied customers. If GM stays in business, I will not be a returning customer. If there is a class action law suit, please advise.

Add me to the list. I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre LTD. I love driving the car... it still runs smooth at 170,000 miles. I went to get an inspection sticker for it. It failed because 3 of my windows (not the drivers window) stopped working a few months back.

So I am looking at between 1500 and 3000 dollars to fix. I won't...I'll trade it in for something other than a GM. GM missed the boat when they didn't recall for this problem. No wonder they are bankrupt. I think the government should have let them go belly-up rather than bailing them out... I know I won't be buying GM again ever.
