1985 Buick LeSabre Limited review from North America

Drivers side window switch replaced, antenna replaced, various fuses and bulbs. Cruise control/wiper switch non functional at this time.

I have been shocked by how pleasant this car has been to own. I originally bought it for $400 bucks as a cheap project car, but it has turned out to be a real pleasure. It has really cleaned up well and with a few replaced pieces of trim and some half-assed paint and body work it looks really, really good! The big Buick is also extremely comfortable and pleasant to drive with a great ride and lots of luxury accessories. These GM B bodies are built like fortresses, and are meant to last forever... and often do. The Olds 307 V8 pulls strong and only smokes on start up and acceleration, but is grossly underpowered for a 4200 lb car like this. The car performs well around town and cruising on level ground at speed... but as soon as you hit hills you have to settle for 55mph. Stabbing the gas only yields second gear at the max and 55 mph is all you can expect at freeway speeds up a steep incline. Once the road levels out it cruises like the Titanic, long, low and comfortable. All the repairs I have performed have been cheap and easy. Nothing serious, just minor fixes and parts are easy to find and cheap. I love these big GM boats, I will keep one around always either for a work car, economical project car or old school image!
