1995 Buick LeSabre Custom review from North America
"Rock-solid well-built American car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had to replace all four shocks (but that's to be expected with Michigan roads).
Unfortunately, I found out some time after I purchased the car that the odometer had been turned back by approximately 26,000 miles.
General comments?
This was a great car, especially for a college student who needed a comfortable, reliable car for college and job hunting. the 3800 V6 is well known as GM's most reliable engine, and this car was no exception. The car had plenty of passing power and accelerated well.
Mechanically, I had to replace all four shocks and the mount points, but anyone who's ever driven in Michigan knows that the roads are absolutely atrocious, so this is not a surprising repair. Beyond that, I had no problems with the car.
Ride-wise, the car rode like a dream. The Dynaride suspension system smoothed out even the worst of Michigan potholes to the point where I can honestly say that I've ridden in Cadillacs and Lincolns that rode worse than this car. That soft suspension made sharp cornering an exercise in body roll, but as long as I kept the speed down going through turns, it was fine. The chairs were quite well padded, and it took several hours to notice any sort of fatigue while on long trips. The downside was the power chairs, since they are notoriously difficult to find the proper setting for (once found, life is good, but until then...)
