1998 Buick Park Avenue review from North America
"Great for the money, but don't expect the same level as expensive imports"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Back seat ashtray cover broke, still need to fix it.
Belt tensioner was making some sounds, but got it replaced.
Replaced all the tires, solved the road noise but not the vibration problems. At between 60-70 there are intermittent high frequency low amplitude vibrations which come and go and are independent of road conditions. Sometimes over the same stretch of road it is very smooth, other times there will be some vibration.
The dash is losing its fitting around some places like the plastic panel that has the fuel and trunk release. My last car (1993 BMW 850) had better interior fit and condition than this GM built car!
General comments?
Very floaty comfortable ride, but the interior of this "top-of-the-line" sedan is lacking in quality compared to imports like MB, BMW, Lexus, etc.
Was cheap though at only $16,000 used.
