1989 Buick Park Avenue review from North America

Headliner was hanging when I bought it.

1 burned out headlight bulb.

Battery just died this winter.

I needed a good, reliable used car of significant mass, and I drive a lot of miles every day. I needed also cheap because I wanted to pay cash.

I found this Buick with 134,000 miles behind the wheel at a dealer sale for them to get rid of trade ins. I put 13,000 miles on this car so far and never had had a single problem with it. (I don't consider a burned headlight bulb or old battery a problem!) It runs like a champ and has tons of electrical amenities and features.

All power everything, unbeatable comfort.

Great stereo sound.

Engine rock-solid, transmission shifts perfectly.

3.6 engine is OK, not neck-snapping but adequate power to pull the car.

The only time I was stranded was this recent winter when the battery died after a couple of cold nights with an interior light left on. I was home. Turned out the battery had been going bad anyway. I have a brand new battery in now and I wouldn't hesitate to drive the Buick across the US and back.

I highly recommend this car for anyone who is on a tight budget and needs affordable, safe, reliable, comfortable, and paid for. I love this thing and I'll never let it go even after I get a newer car a couple years from now.
