1991 Buick Park Avenue review from North America
"Fast with Class"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I've replaced the Idle Air Speed Valve twice since I've owned it. (70k, 80k) It gets stuck at a fast idle.
The AC Clutch went at 78k miles, I replaced it and retro-fitted it to R134A, works great.
I replaced the AC Computer shortly after the compressor, I got a good one from a junk yard.
The ECM was bad (69k miles) from the Dealer when we got it. I replaced it.
Front brake pads 75k.
Right Wheel Cylinder 80k.
Stabilizer bar end links 75k (might have been broke since I bought it, I noticed them when I did the brakes)
General comments?
Super comfortable, smooth ride, nice seats, good dash layout, and plenty of interior room.
Despite all the stuff I've written up it is reliable. The engine and everything I've done to it has been really easy to do. I wish all cars were made like this one.
My wife refuses to drive anything else.
The 3800 is an excellent motor with very good power.
