Since I have owned this car,
the head gasket has blown twice.
Front windows don't work in cold.
Rear ABS buzzes from time to time for no reason.
Heated seats don't work.
Automatic wiper rain sensor does not work properly.
Rather fuel thirsty at 9.8L/100 km.
The transmission acts erratically at 80 km /hr often.
The seats and mirrors have a mind of their own as they never stay on the setting I set them on.
Drivers side mirror is turning colors
or interior film is melting.
This car accelerates very well.
Soft in the corners, luxury suspension.
Nice quiet ride.
Roomy trunk.
Stable over bumps.
Rear ABS isn't buzzing... that is the automatic leveling suspension. Air filled shocks are pumped with air via an air compressor located around the trunk... that buzzing sound is the compressor firing up and pumping the rear end level again. Tranny issue is an electronic valve sticking in the tranny. Around $300 to fix at a good tranny shop. The mirror is dual layers, with a tinted oil injected in between... this provides the tinted look. Unfortunately, as did on my car, it is probably leaking and air is getting in between the glass sandwich. I love my Buick, but it has definitely lacked fit and finish as well as quality in the little things.
Thanks for the info on " buzzing " is not ABS problem I never received a manual with this car, so I did not even know it had air shocks.lol
The car has been running fairly good for around 1 year now. (feb06)
Fixed jamming windows with occasional spray of silicone oil on the rubber the window rides on. Heated seat simply needs replacement heating unit.
New minor problems, groaning noise in dash maybe a leaky vaccuum motor or fan is on its way out.
Oil is leaking from the engine gaskets a bit, giving occasional smoke smell in cabin. Manual lock switch on drivers side stopped working. Some dash lamps are burning out, Brakes do not work well on first attempt at stopping when it is cold and damp,ABS kicks in and the car keeps going straight through the intersection. Had 2 close calls so far it is an intermittant problem I should take care of
yesterday.
