1995 Buick Regal Custom review from North America
"Buick is the best brand in America!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
One day, the front left speaker stopped working, and the radio made a pop noise when turned on and off. By the end of the day everything was working again, though.
No other problems.
General comments?
I bought the Buick the day before I drove from Los Angeles, CA to Midland, MI, as I didn't think my Civic would be able to make the trip. I am so glad I bought the Buick.
It was very inexpensive compared to other similar cars, and is very spacious. I crammed almost everything I owned into it, bringing the load weight to about 1,000 pounds or so. The 3.8L V6 pulled me across the states with this load and gave me SHOCKING gas mileage!
I got 35 mpg going through Oklahoma at about 60 mph, due to construction. 35 mpg! in a fully loaded beast of a sedan! The ride was also very very comfortable. The AC gets cold within a couple minutes.
Though it's a 95 California car, it doesn't show any signs of it's age. I love this car, it's far from the newest, but it is without a doubt the nicest car I've ever had.
My mother bought a Buick Le Sabre new in 2003, and she still has it and loves it today, and it also has the 3.8L, and gets excellent gas mileage.
Now, I would not want this car if I was still in LA. It is big, and the gas mileage dips to mid-20s (still not bad for its size) with constant stops. It's great for longer commutes.
Everything on my Honda felt like it might fall off, and my Buick is the exact opposite. Everything about the car feels solid, reliable, and strong. I especially love the 3.8L V6, as I've had nothing, but good experiences with it. It is a powerful, efficient, and reliable engine.
I highly recommend a Buick to anyone looking for a comfy sedan. However, I notice they are a very popular make already. Buick has most certainly earned their popularity. All the other brands have to advertise their hearts out for sales.
