1992 Buick Regal GS review from North America
"Amazing car for the money, run it till its dead. and that's going to be a while!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
There has only been very few things wrong with this vehicle. My parents owned it before I did, and this car car had very few problems beside normal: brakes, oil normal maintenance things. The problems that we did have were mostly minor and nothing much over 100$ for parts to repair.
The car doesn't seem to like damp weather, and which I think is most likly connect... has some mistry electrical problems that come and go.
Some other problems I have had:
Replaced spark plug wires do to strange bogging of the engine above 3 grand RPM. Do to arching of bad wires.
Replaced the crankshaft positioning censor do to the car cutting out on acceleration. had no clue what it was until I did a diognostics test on it.
Rear passanger calliper used to stick while hitting the rotor, resulting in burning smell only happend a few times.
For the truley minor:
Seatbelt retraction failed on passenger side. mostly likely my fault.
Driver side window power motor failed, won't roll down all the way unless you help it down and up.
General comments?
It might be a heavy car, but this Buick rips it up. When telling people I drive a regal they reply saying "isn't that an old persons car" well maybe some older people drive them. but must we forget what the regals were in the 80s? but when they see the sleek black car with smoky tinted windows shining in the back of the parking lot they say understand.
I'm proud of my Buick and know she'll never fail me.
One of my friends had the 4 door of the same year car, and beat it up until it was dead. ruthless on the car, and it still lasted until 250,000 miles. The engine was still going... it was the rest of the car that died do to the failure of maintaining and treating it with respect...
Great car.
