1992 Buick Skylark GS review from North America
"Been a good car for the first 5 years"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Need to replace brake pads every 15,000 to 20,000 miles.
Overheat due to poorly designed cooling fan. Have replace several times. (Connector shorts out)
Replace water pump twice at 60,000 and 120,000 miles.
Electric antenna failed at 70,000 miles.
Replace battery and alternator every 2 years (approx 8 times).
Valve covers leaks oil since 60,000 miles.
Thermostat leaks been replaced 5 times.
Drivers electric windows stop working at 85,000 miles.
CD stuck in stereo at 70,000 miles, still there.
Air conditioning not functioning properly, takes along time to cool. Would take $1,000 to fix.
Car starts, but dies after 30 seconds, not sure the problem.
Transmission problems at 30,000 miles.
General comments?
The car is very quick and handles great.
It has been a good car for the first 70,000 miles, then fell apart.
This car is a pain to work on, poor design under the hood.
