1991 Cadillac Allante review from North America

Fixed the following from previous owner:

Door lock/unlock switches intermittent.

Driver's window required assistance, replaced window belt.

Vanity mirror housings were cracked from sun exposure.

Bose unit had failed.

If you're in the market, look for a one-owner car with all maintenance records. Be sure the brake and cooling system was properly maintained; i.e. yearly fluid flush and fill.

The power of the 4.5 is very surprising. Most people look to the '93 for the power, but they miss out on the Bose system, Recaro seats, multiplex lighting and a host of other goodies that were cut in the name of cost savings. You won't be disappointed. 1991 and '92 are the best years.

Nothing can hold a candle to the sophistication of these cars, but if you leave repairs to the dealer, you may get soaked $$$. After all, we're talking about a $60,000 automobile.

Consider joining the AAG or AOA for lots of great advice and camaraderie.
