1998 Cadillac Catera review from North America
"The Cadillac Catera is poorly made and the dealer in Marin County CA is incapable of servicing it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The temperature indicator went on at 40000 miles. I took it to the dealer who fixed it only to have it go on again at 48000 miles. It went out again at 55000 miles. Now the car was out of warranty and the dealer charged me $400 to fix it. It went on again right away. Because the temperature guage had never overheated, only the light, I let it go. At 80000 miles I had oil in the cooling system, a blown gasket.
This in addition to going through three sets of tires in 80000 miles.
I also experienced the same problems with headlight alignment that others have mentioned.
General comments?
The car looks good and is comfortable, but after experiencing poor product quality and dealer incompetence you can be sure I'll never own another Cadillac.
