1998 Cadillac Catera from North America - Comments

"Piece of CRAP!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The service on this car is as thick as a BOOK. The timing belt and tenisoner has been replaced 3 time. Climate control unit had to be replaced. Valve cover gaskets and the oil cooler at a cost of $2400 and the you can only get $2000 trade in value on the car. This car has been in the shop on a regular basis and since the warranty has run out I have had to put so much money into the car that I could have purchased something else.

General comments?

Keep away from any catera.

So, what are you saying, that Cadillac or GM should not be responsible for this pile of junk? I don't think so. Perhaps you're saying that American made Cadillacs are better quality. Doesn't work for me. A manufacturer allows such cars as the Catera to wear their nameplate is suspect in my book for the quality of all their cars.
