2000 Cadillac DeVille from North America - Comments

"Beautiful piece of crap."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Dash Pad shrank and came loose.

Rack & Pinion Steering leaks.

A/C compressor went out.

Drive belt broke.

Traction Control system failed.

Coolant System leaks.

THE DREADED 2000-2005 FRONT END VIBRATION.

Rear high mounted 3rd brake light failed TWICE.

Stereo system crackles.

Rear self-leveling suspension leaks.

General comments?

DO NOT BUY THIS CAR AS A USED VEHICLE. TO DO SO IS ASKING FOR A FINANCIAL NIGHTMARE.

Fast car and handles well for a car it's size below 60. In between 60 and 78 mph the vibration in the front end will rattle your teeth. Totally unacceptable. The front-end vibration is UNREPAIRABLE! See other reviews for information on this engineered flaw.

Great front seats.

High maintenance and high cost maintenance, it cost $324 to change the spark plugs. $300 to change the drive belt.

After three failed Northstar cars I will never, ever buy another Cadillac.

Do yourself a favor and buy a Lincoln.

I had two Broughams (87&91) and currently have a 93 Fleetwood. 3 excellent cars with quality and reliability comparable with the best from Japan. Sorry to read about your bad DeVille experience. I too had a bad experience with a well maintained used DeVille. I'll never buy another DeVille, but I will buy a used Fleetwood or Brougham over any Lincoln.

OK here's the deal. I've had 4 Devilles, all used, and all JUNK now. I've had 2 Town Cars, NOT ONE OUNCE OF A PROBLEM ever! OK a battery once, but I mean c'mon LOL, Caddy engines just plain suck like Dodge truck transmissions LOL, there's a good comparison :)

I love Chevy trucks, but GM messed up with the Northstar BLOW A HEAD GASKET EVERY 5K MILES AFTER 95K POS ENGINE!!! Anyone agree? :D.
