2002 Cadillac DeVille Base model deville review from North America

Bad catalytic converter which makes a horrible growling noise sporadically.

Passenger side mirror only works when it wants to.

8 inch rear speaker blew recently which sounds terrible... costly to replace $150-200 for one speaker.

Bad emission parts had to replace air pump / $400 dollars it was estimated at $650 - 700 at dealer.

Bad lower passenger side ball joint which made the car vibrate, but with a few select tires and an alignment the car rides smooth.

Radio buttons wear with normal use.

Noisy pistons during warm up in cold weather.

Swallows oil crazily 1 quart every 1000-1500 miles.

Even after all the money I've putout to fix these problem I still recommend this car! very solid design being digital dash which includes all the bells and whistles.

The most comfortable car I've ever driven being I am 6'6 290. recommend getting an extended warranty through a secondary warranty company to cover small repairs others describe such as window regulators, mirrors, tie rods, ect. and I'm still not yet confident with the northstar engines how do others fell about this especially since it eats so much oil? for a $40,000+ car the resale value at this point is around $9000-14000 for the money you can't pass this car up even if you put 2000-3000 in to it it's a beautiful smooth comfortable diamond in the rough.
