2002 Cadillac DeVille Vogue Edition review from North America
"Decent vehicle... however, there's room for improvement"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have had to replace the rack/pinion assembly.
I have replaced the coolant reservoir, all 4 wheel hub assemblies, and both tie rod ends and all front bushings.
I also replaced a small rubber gasket on the intake.
To me, all were considered normal wear and tear, taking into account the mileage.
There is minor leather wear on the front 2 seats, but it's expected, and that's about it.
General comments?
The DeVille is a car you should expect lesser than average gas mileage, (it's big!). It's Cadillac so parts are going to be expensive. When it comes down to it, it's a car you must expect to be a bit spendy, but in turn, you get a beautiful car with curves of yesteryear.
Cadillacs have been offering the smoothest "floating" rides for years, and the DeVille is no exception. Sure there is pricey repairs and not so great gas mileage, however you're treated to comfort, quality steel structure, smooth Northstar engine and more space than you can fill. I still pull 21mpg highway @ 117,850 on the odo with stock plugs and sensors... not bad for a big body.
