At 100k miles I had to replace my radiator.
My oil pump also was replaced at 100k miles.
I had to have my head gasket replaced and valves replaced.
Demands respect on the highway.
Moving classic is an eye catcher.
Very comfortable and still handles like a dream.
"demands respect on the highway"? lmao!
Respect from what? the bugs that splatter on its windshield?
An 82 Cadillac is not going to impress, let alone intimidate, ANYBODY!
Well, that's not a very nice comment above.
Maybe an old Cadillac would not impress anybody, but it would certainly attract attention by the way it stands out from current models.
I know my '83 Coupe deVille got a lot of looks when I drove it, even if just because you so rarely see them anymore. What I liked best about it was when you closed the door, it felt like a bank vault door closing, not like a screen door the way most late models feel!
This is also in response to the first comment, perhaps you need to go take your meds and stop ragging on peoples rides. I actually get a lot of respect with my '83 Coupe De ville I get compliments all the time on the appearance, in fact one time I went to an import tuner car club meet and everyone in the club gathered around my car and started asking me questions and complimenting me on it... I kid you not, import tuners! you know, the people that usually refer to Cadillacs as "granny rides"? and on a regular bases I get people offering to but it for attractive sums of money, If that's not respect then tell me what is.
In regards to the first comment I own a 1983 coupe Deville and it demands respect off the line and on the highway its just a matter of getting rid of that 4.1 L and putting in a 5.7 L now add a shift kit some performance such as carb and intake maybe exhaust and you got a huge land yacht that can smoke those little Honda and ford focus guys, just don't try and take them in the corners... you won't win ;)
I own an '82 coupe de ville. I, ve owned it for two and a half years. I love it and I also get comments on what a nice car it is. I, ve had my share of replacing parts. I have done a lot of the work myself, but it, s not like working on my chevy. I guess my point is that even though it, s big and old it deserves plenty of respect for being the survivor it is. Wish I had some pictures to share with you all. Ray.
