"The best thing to come out of michigan"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

General comments?

Since I've owned my 73' deville hardtop it's gone from a great ride to " please let's go back to the 70's " I'm 42 years old and I gotta tell y'all this is the ride to have, if your 18 or 78 it don't matter the 73' caddy deville is detroit iron at it's finest, not forgetting the big ass motor to propel your land yacht, down the highways and byways, just a quick word to the 1973 caddy production line crew THANK YOU you guys rocked the world with this fine automobile...

I am 41 and my dad had on of these new. It was very smooth and powerfull. But... it was typical of the 1970's monsters= = it was made out of crapola metal and rusted out in less than 5 years here in northern indiana. I was not impressed!!

I've seen the vinal top literally rust off of them.

Yes, that was a problem mainly with the '73 and '74 (especially the '74s).

The '76s seemed to have thicker metal and, of course, the '72 and earlier did not have the roof rust problem at all (at least, not on the '69-'71 Cads I owned).

I have 2 73 sedan devilles and both run great. not to mention that the have the beefiest front bumper of all time and will mangle anything on the road. fuel economy sucks, but you don't drive a car like this for fuel economy.

My grand father owns a '73 sedan deville, but he passed away a few years ago, so we went to oregon hoping to get the car I thought the car is junk because how it looks, but when you start the engine it sounds like BRAND NEW I was surprised, and damn that car drove all the way home back to california.

I'm 30 yrs old and last year I bought a 73 deville. I love it. I put a big k and n air filter on it and my gas millage got a lot better and by the end of the year I hope to put bigger exhaust manifolds and dual pipes on it to increase the horses and to get even better millage. an older friend told me about a cadi with a 472 that he learned to drive in and they always got 20 mpg after similar improvements.

I bought a 1973 coupe deville with only 43000 miles. It runs and looks new. I am 40 years old. I love my caddy.

7-9 mpg is almost an economy car!

I have had my "73" coupe for about 5 years and I love it! I have probably put double what the car is worth into it just to keep it alive, but can't help myself. I recently had the vinyl top shaved off and all the body damage under it repaired. It looks sweet without the top and a new paint job. I am glad I am not alone in the world as being a lover of this " not so sought after " classic car.

I have been an admirer of the 73 Coupe Deville since childhood. My parents owned earlier and later model Coupes but not the 73. Would like to take a spin in one here in NW Indiana.

My girlfriends uncle passed away last year and left her with a 73 Caddy Coupe Deville with vinyl top. Now the car belongs to me. I love the car, it is very smooth. This was the best gift ever.

I have just purchased a 1973 sedan Deville. I had always wanted one, and now at 46 years of age I have now got one. It's the grandest car around, and the looks I get when driving down the freeway, I cruise slowly till the motor warms up, and no one beeps because I"m going too slow, it's just the presence these cars have. I now want more!!!

I purchased a 1973 Fleetwood Brougham Sixty-Special about two years ago. I restored it and fully customized it. I fell so deeply in love with this car that I had to go buy another, last year I purchased a 1971 Coupe Deville. I'm currently working on this car.. So far I did a House of Kolor kandy red paintjob on it. You should see the looks in the peoples faces when I drive these cars. They are priceless. I'm 23 yrs old and I have begun my car collection with these beautiful Cadillacs. There is nothing in the world that compares to driving these land boats.
