1995 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham review from North America
"The God of automobiles..."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing has gone wrong on this car.
General comments?
The power this vehicle has is amazing. The 5.7 moves the beast like a champion. This huge Cadillac is much faster than the average car and is even able to toast a few sports cars. It is the sleeper vehicle the guy with the spoiler doesn't see coming. You'll love the look on the driver's face in the rear-view mirror after you smoke him. Being the engine is Corvette-derived, you can add modification to make the car even faster if you choose.
The car is extremely comfortable. You can ride for hours in this car and still be comfortable. The cab is huge is filled with loads of amenities. The spacious leg room and head room is quite nice.
This car is large and impressive-looking. At 225 inches, this car was the longest production vehicle of its year and the size coupled with the sharp, classic Cadillac design of a huge grille and tailfins makes this car turn many heads. The front and back have full metal chrome bumpers and the sides are clad with chrome plates. It came standard with a classy vinyl top. Add to that the chrome adornments, like the sail panel trim and the hood ornament, and everyone knows you're driving in style. It's a true beauty!
The trunk is enormous. You can almost park one of your friend's tiny Japanese cars in it. It fits everything you want even with its full-sized spare tire.
The options are so many on this vehicle I'm not even going to bother listing them because even after an extensive list I'd still probably be missing half of the stuff.
The car has been quite reliable. After owning it for two years I have yet to do a repair. I trust this car more than some of my friends!
The sound system in this vehicle is awesome. It came standard with a 6-speaker system and an optional CD player.
This car has the finest ride I've ever felt. The suspension is a little firmer than the older, more boaty Cadillacs, but it is still nice and smooth and soft, unlike "performance" European suspensions that jolt you like crazy. Riding in this car makes you forget you are on the road - it is more like a big, comfy couch in your living room. It is comfort at its finest!
The only complaint I have is that Cadillac stopped making these cars. This car is a true example of what a top-of-the-line car should be. The Europeans and Japanese never came close to filling the shoes of this car and unfortunately neither do modern American cars. I'd like to find the guy at Cadillac who decided to discontinue the Fleetwood.
