2005 Cadillac STS review from Germany
"Superb American luxury sedan"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Right front suspension parts replaced shortly after I owned the car.
Anti theft system is unreliable in terms of false alarm. With some sunshine on the car in summer, the alarm is triggered because of an unknown reason.
High pressure power steering line replaced at 78000 km.
Poor quality standard, blank alloy which deteriorates in winter salty conditions.
General comments?
Superb car, simply reliable, specially the all so hated overkill on electronic gadgets, things which go all so wrong on many European car makers.
I would advise to take the V8 4.6 Northstar, because of the V8 sound (is that important? Well yes off course it is..) and the Magnetic Ride Control Suspension. The 3.6's suspension is very firm, unless you like this behavior, well I don't.
An overall exclusive touring limousine with a "acceptable" fuel economy of 10.1 l/100 km ~ 25 mpg.
