"How can you NOT love it?"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

It's 45 years old, come on!

General comments?

These trucks have such a unique styling.

And talk about tough! No rust-through like on more modern vehicles!

First time EVERY for independent front suspension on a truck!

Rides like a Cadillac!

I have a 1960 Apache short box and it is the best truck. It has style, looks and runs great. She has little problems, but hey, she's 49 years old!!! And still going strong!!!

"rides like a Cadillac"?--a 1925 Cadillac, that is.

My wife and I just inherited a 1961 Apache, turquoise color. We are trying to decide if we should restore it or not. She has great memories of driving it as a teenager. Her dad had bought it used when it was just one year old off the Navajo reservation.

By coincidence, Automobile magazine has a three page article on this truck in the June 2009 issue. The magazine also comments on how unexpectedly soft the ride is. They said it is the first pickup with independent front suspension.

You bought an Apache from a Navajo?

Coincidentally, I once bought a (Mazda) Navajo from an Iroquois in New York, and my uncle bought a Cherokee from a Seminole in FL.
