2004 Chevrolet Aveo review from North America
"Just say no to this car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Overheated at 650 miles.
Dome lights blew.
Transmission shifted hard at 1500 miles.
Sprung an oil leak at around 5,000 miles.
Has worse gas mileage than my dodge stealth.
A/C quit around the time I unloaded this pile of crap.
Paint peeled about 2 months into ownership. it peeled when a bug would hit the car or it would get washed.
Crappy tire that wore out at 8,000 miles.
Started smoking at 9,000 miles.
General comments?
Drives like an old, cheap import.
You can hear and feel everything in this car, even if you're deaf or paralyzed. It makes a car with no muffler seem quiet and a car with busted springs seem smooth.
I wouldn't even recommend this car to a new family on a budget. Buy something used, trust me, it's safer, and you won't take as bad a hit on the resale value.
Only good thing here was the dealership. The Chevy dealership in Fairbanks, AK was as helpful as they could be.
