The vehicle will not come out of Park. I have read this is the face on the 2004 models, and I am also experiencing this on my 2005 Chevy Aveo. I only have 45,000 miles on the vehicle.
I called the dealer and they say it is not recalled, but when I call the auto parts places in my area, they say this is a recalled part and can only be obtained from the dealer? Not real sure who is telling the correct story as of right now.
I'm not sure if you already fixed the problem, but that happened to me as well. Turned out it was an $8.00 sensor that sits under the steering wheel, and took my husband 5 minutes to fix. The dealer wanted me to take it in and leave it for a few days while they checked the car. I'm sure after a few hundred dollars they would have called and gave me a song and dance.
I have replaced the engine at 70,000 miles due to the timing belt breaking and basically destroying my lego engine.
At 60,000 miles and after warranty issues, the computer was completely replaced. Also, replaced was the catalytic converter or something like that at the same time as the computer.
Thank goodness for the warranty, which by the way has already ran out. Of course you could guess the stupid car is still up to no good. The daytime driving lights now don't want to turn on automatically, so I am driving with my lights on at all times.
Today, I went to go get the state inspection and the darn thing failed due to the crack sensor and the fuel injector circuit condition. I have no idea what all that is, but I am sure it was due to the replaced engine. I didn't get it replaced with a dealer because they wanted $3000 for all work and labor. I had a junk yard 2007 engine put in and all labor for $1000. Now my warranty is expired with the junk yard, but now I have these problems. I will never buy another Chevy again, and for the matter an Aveo!!!
