1995 Chevrolet Beretta Super Sport review from North America
"The speed, driving control, reliability and appearance make the Beretta fantastic"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I bought by beauty the tail gate light was out--the light still is out because the screws are so damaged and tight that I can't replace the bulb.
Above my windshield is what appears to be a rust cover up--some sort of sticky warp to cover up the damage.
Both front rotors were replaced--a $450.00 repair, now my Beretta runs like a top.
Front right flashing/blinker light keeps going out. (It looks like she was hit in this corner, so that's probably why this light keeps blowing).
My horn works part of the time--the fuse might need to be replaced.
Driver's side door handle broke on first cold winter like day of the year--I went to the local junk yard and coaxed the agent to give me a new handle for $35 Canadian- he wanted $85 for the whole cover of the handle.
Driver's side door lock cover was loose after repairing handle and cover has now fallen off--I went to my local GMC dealer and they gave me a new cover for free.
Seat cover in front especially drivers side seem to be worn out excessively, kind of fold and really dirty, my interior is light Grey and I've never really seen such a dirty seat--compared to my rear seats---I'm sure it just needs a good shampoo!
When I bought my Beretta, the emergency /parking brake was broken--the dealer had to fix it to be safetied and now I'm uncomfortable using my parking break.
GMC symbol was not on my grille when I bought my car.
My automatic door locks seize and jam all the time maybe it's because of the cold weather or it might be because I had someone try to install an automatic car starter and with that it gave me an option to have an automatic door unlock and maybe when the wires were touched and cut it caused a conflict.
My interior and exterior windows especially the windshield and rear view window seem to frost thickly in the winter and it's takes a great 10-15 minutes to thaw the front and the rear hardly ever thaws.
Aside from regular maintenance (rotate tires, oil change) I've really listed the bare bone pet peeves that have bothered me.
General comments?
My car is hot-she brinks me lots of attention, guys love it!!!
Guys bend over back wards to help with it; free oil changes, offer to change my wipers for me and so many other helpful thinks like washing the exterior and vacuuming the interior, tightening my hub cabs, offering to put car starters and CD players in for me.
I'm 5'1" tall and I find the Interior uncomfortable the seats do not go up enough and my steering wheel does not tilt. The bottom/sitting part of my seat is to long for my legs and it is very uncomfortable because I either stretch to my pedal and drive "tippy toed", or drive with the steering wheel well pressed against my chest and my forehead nearly touches the windshield, and than my seat belt rides my face.
My Beretta is a hot red 2-door, rear spoiler, decal of a Chevy symbol in the rear window, right and left bottom door hand scripted (hand writing) decal of "Beretta SS" black and silver accents she's beautiful, photographs always turn out grand!!!
