The stater broke at 163,000 miles.
The front wheel squeaks because of unknown causes.
The oil gauge broke, don't know how.
The metal that holds my rear springs in place is rotting away, leaving me wonder about my safety.
The interior went to you know where in a hand basket.
The door panels are constantly loose.
The floor boards rotted out before I owned it.
The odometer stopped working at 173,000 miles so I have somewhere around 210,000 miles now, I believe.
Entire exhaust system fell apart, and that's no good.
I believe that I got my $400 worth. It has been a wonderful car for how hard I drive it. It still leaves shocked and amazed that it is still alive and running.
It eats gas like crazy and I have no clue why.
The engine is great though. It's really strong, I'm very surprised.
For how crappy it is. I'm surprised that I am still alive.
But you can't I guess, 400 bucks was a good investment.
OK...first you have a tempo... and then you spend 400$ on a beretta and complain about it? wow... the nerve you have. how bout you go back tempos. they need it. the beretta is a good car if you baby it from when you bought it. mine is in mint condition, probably cause it has never even seen snow, and has lots of aftermarket engine mods. if you want a decent car, spend the money and take care of it, don't expect to be amazed with a 400$ car. get real.
You've got to be kidding!!! You're complaining that the starter went out a 163,000 miles!!!???!! Most Fords won't even last that long.
Quit your whining. The Beretta is a great car. Mine had over a quarter million miles when it was totaled by a drunk in an accident.
I just have a few question. Why do you complain when you bought a $400 car? Odviously your gonna have problems, but crapfest? If you spent $200 more, you could have gotten a decent beretta, I did. All I am saying is you should be happy that it runs. It may seem like a crapfest to you, but they are good cars. I don't wan't trouble, I'm just saying that you shouldn't dis a car only because you had problems with it. Well that's just me, so sincerely have a nice day, and good luck with your car.
I used to own a 1989 Beretta. It was my first car. I miss it dearly, even tho we called it the "Ghetta Rhetta", because it was "ghetto". I am now going to buy a different one. They are great & dependable cars, so quit fussing. If my Thunderbird ran half as good as my beretta did I wouldn't even consider buying another one. I guess I am just a Chevy girl at heart.
Don't be complaing of having to replace the starter at that mileage, cause my beretta did just over 100'000 miles with 7 starters. As well, it was a $600 car. What did you excpect, Maybach quality, you don't even have to baby these cars, just give them their regular maintenencae on time and it will be you that wants to get rid of the car cause of having it for so long rather than the car not being able to do its service to you.
I just got the same deal my girlfriend had a 88 beretta when we started going out and she gave it to me and I changed the ignition module and payed $20 for a used one then sold it for $450 to my dad he drove it for awhile then I bought it back for the same price and sold my 85 cadillac eldorado biarritz and the beretta is 5 times faster!
