1992 Chevrolet Beretta GT review from North America

Transmission sensor, alternator, Cv drive axle, coil, module, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, front-main seal, brake light switch, driver seat worn badly and starting to rip.

I bought the car from Carter GM. I paid $4,700 plus tax in july, 2003 and I have only had the car for 3 months. In those 3 month this is what has happened. I didn't even get the car home when the tranny sensor went and the car wouldn't go into gear without dying. The dealer wouldn't take it back and they didn't do anything for me to fix it even when I had it towed back to the dealer that night. right after I bought it I had to do $2,000 work fixing stuff that was just worn and maintenamce that had to be done. Then the valve cover started leaking oil everywhere. The back valve cover is a pain to get at. when I thought everything was good the brake light switch went. Then the head gasket started leaking along with the main seal. The coil and module just recently went. Sometime during all that mess the alternator went along with a few other things. I have spent almost as much fixing this car as I paid for it.

The dealer was no help and basically doesn't care about me because I didn't spend $30,000 on a brand new car. I will never buy another car from a Carter dealer. I phoned them to talk about the car and they we're complete a$$H%$!# about the whole thing. They said all used cars have a 3 month warranty and all cars are inspected. When I asked "why didn't I get the 3 month warranty and why when I asked before I made a deal if they had one and they told me they don't have such a thing. He replied with "well then I guess your car wasn't inspected." My advice is Don't buy a car from a CARTER dealer. They treat you like crap unless the car is new. Even if the car is new they won't even lift a finger for you once the warranty runs out.
