1992 Chevrolet Beretta GT review from North America
"Great Performance and Looks.."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I got the car when I was 18 as my first car back in 1996. Over it's life, it was extremely reliable, with most costs coming from things I caused as a speedy teenager.
The last year of it's life in 2003 was a little expensive, it had hit 125000 miles, and required a rebuilt transmission, brakes, shocks, struts, alternator and battery. It was 12 years old at this point, so that's not really too bad considering I was pretty abusive through my teenage years.
General comments?
I truly loved this car. It was fast and looked extremely good, and for it's age was remarkably reliable. I know a lot of Beretta's have issues with head gaskets, fallen liners, etc, but mine never did. Sadly, it was totaled in Atlantic City two days after Christmas in 2003 by a speeding BMW. Even after losing it's entire rear, it still drove out of a parking garage to get itself on the tow truck. I will truly miss this car, it was an amazing machine. If GM had not ended the line I'd certainly be getting another.
