1990 Chevrolet Beretta GTZ review from North America
"Great High-Speed Fun... At a Price!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The list goes on...
151k -Water Pump and cooling lines $700+ after labor because the pump is beneath a motor mount
162k and 170k-Alternator (twice) $130ish and no labor cause I did it myself
started at 155k-3 Serpentine belts and a Belt tensioner
155k- Heater core exploded onto my driveway.
160k -CV joints and axle $350+
-Exhaust system is totally shot
170k -The clutch hydraulics are losing it. The whole clutch/hydraulic job will hover right around $1000 after labor.
General comments?
This car has raped me of money, but I still love it. It's surprisingly easy to drive (even with no clutch). It gets off the line like nobody's business and I have yet to be out-cornered (.9g skidpad-stock). I've beaten numerous Mustangs, Accords, and all shapes and sizes of Civics off the line and at highway speeds. The front seat is great, but the back seat isn't recommended for anyone over 5'
