1988 Chevrolet Beretta GT review from North America
"Good Sturdy Car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Recently put in a new alternator and did the front brakes before I got my license.
Back breaks squeal when in reverse.
Stalls occasionally when it shifts.
VERY slow pick up when its cold.
Console is falling apart.
General comments?
I love my car, except for the fact that it sucks gas like my mother's Astro. At only 19 mpg, it's hardly an economy car. It was great to learn to drive it because it's solid as a rock and is really smooth around corners. The paint is almost completely gone, apparently there was a problem with the primer in Chevys for a couple of years. Everyone in my family drives a Chevy and haven't had any major problems with them. It's a little hard to work on since everything seems to be packed underneath the hood, and it could use a little more trunk space.
