1991 Chevrolet Beretta GT review from North America
"The best car I've ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Everything. Bought it cheap as a salvage car. Replaced most of the interior. All the shocks and struts. Exhaust. Replaced the motor after a turbo experiment. Computer. Every sensor. This was over the 3 years I ownd this car. All the parts were cheap. The only major problem was the fact that an alternator would only last about six months. $25 dollars and 15 minutes later she ran just fine.
General comments?
I loved this car. I could literally beat it up and it would still start the next day. I modified this car from the brakes to the interior. Dual piston front and rear struts/shocks. 2 inch drop springs. Body kit from a Z-26 model. Hyper-Tech Chip. I even had the computer sent off and redone. Roller everything inside the motor. No A/c. It came stock with 165 hp. I dynoed mine at the at 240hp. I beat a modified mustang and ate civics for lunch. I love cars and anyone could achieve the same results if they spent as much time tinkering with their car. It has been the most reliable and inexpensive car to maintain that I have ever owned. It was my second and id buy another one. This is the sad part it now resides in a junk yard. I was hit in the side by an escort going 45mph and I was sitting still. I could have driven it home, but the local police wouldn't let me. I was fine. The escort wasn't going anywhere after words.
