Oh boy, here we go.
I just bought my Blazer in December of 08. It's only January of 09, and I'm already complaining.
Okay. Had the thing for 2 days.. that's it, 2 days, and bye bye fuel pump. The dealer told me it was gonna cost me over $700 to fix this problem. I laughed and walked out. I learned that if you take a rubber mallet to the bottom of the fuel tank, it never fails to turn back on.
Both of my front seat adjustment handles were gone when I bought the car, got half way home with it before I noticed it.
The front end sits really really low, wondering if maybe something is wrong in the suspension... haven't had it checked out yet.
It does run very well though, I'll give it that. But I won't ever buy another one, and if the damn fuel pump keeps acting up, it's getting sold.
Wonderful car. It runs good. BUT, the fuel pump issue is getting REALLY old. I''m kinda sick of getting my hammer out in the middle of a busy parking lot and beating on my fuel tank.
Just reading about your luck. Sorry but I too bought a Blazer, same kind in 2007, had the very same problem. Kidding? No I am not. Here are some tips on what to do, and I think it will help you.
I don't think it is your fuel pump, but try this; the Blazer LS has two O.Z sensors. Change them, costing about $100.00 a piece. Change the fuel filter. Then change your mass air flow system. I bet if you do all this your Blazer will run a lot better.
Then for about 6 months run Lucas fuel cleaner every other fill up. I only use high octane gas.
Just a little help from someone that went through the same thing. It sounds so like my Blazer when I bought it.
