2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America

2000 Blazer problems:

Crazy about those seat recline levers, they both broke (I have the 2 door model) within a week of each other, I'm stuck in a reclined position on the driver side, vise grips worked for a bit but that's out now.

Just had to replace fuel pump. Oh to all of you who are experiencing the fuel gage jumping or malfunctioning, it's because your fuel pump is going, when I replaced it the gage worked fine (got gouged on the repair though, 1,050$)

Diagnostic check revealed idler arm needs replacement, haven't done that yet.

Went through a lot of tires, probably due to an alignment problem (in all fairness I rear ended someone).

Currently leaking oil (@ 135,000 miles).

Purchased my 2000 Blazer in 02' with 50,000 miles on it.

I hadn't had any expensive repairs (& even rear ended someone) til recently getting gouged for $1050 to replace the fuel pump (didn't shop around 1st). While there they told me I should replace the idler arm.

To all who are experiencing gas gauge problems: It's your fuel pump about to go on you, once they replaced the fuel pump my gas gauge worked fine, when before it used to jump around, so if that's happening to you, get ready to replace the fuel pump.

Other than that it's been a joy to drive (I've beaten cars off the line at stoplights) & if you buy parts from junkyards or on eBay, then just have the labor done, you shouldn't have to spend all that much to keep this vehicle up.. I've taken it from Florida to NY & back twice & no problems. I've had the other small things like the seat levers breaking & door leaking rain in, & the paint on the luggage racks peeling, but that doesn't bother me.
