This car has been in my family since it rolled off the lot. Multiple drivers, light city, highway driving.
The brakes have been a consistent problem. The dealers have never explained it.
The paint disappeared after a year and the dealer refused to do anything about it (the recall didn't seem to affect the '91)
New ENGINE! Due to broken engine mounts, another little gem that Chevy never mentions about the 4.3L engine. It was the largest, but also the heaviest causing cracks and break on the mounts.
New transmission! The transmission up and died after faithful service.
Electrical issues: windows burned out, wipers have mind of their own, rear wiper gone after 2 years, A/C hasn't worked in years.
I can only attribute some of the problems that I have had to "normal wear and tear."
Why do I still have this vehicle? Because no matter what, it is paid for. That and I love reminding myself every morning to not buy over-priced junk, especially if it has GM or Chevy on it.
I have a 91 s10 4.3 4x4 and it seems to me that 91-94 blazers are the best blazers ever made or in my case the worst blazer I've never seen a case of this generation of blazer being alright or just some things going wrong eather they are great long lasting trucks or they are a piece of money eating crap my motor locked up at 182,000 miles about 5,000 miles after I bought it. the 700r4 tranny leaks like there is no 2morrow (about 1-2qt a day) they collents leaks out of they top of the intake (heater inlit) um... leaks oil alittle from the oil filter relocation o-rings on both ends and its bad enought that they tanny leaks, but the down pipe is right below the front main seal so that equals SMOKE bad smelling smoke my best advice is LOOK UNDER THE CAR if you see any kind of build-up on the down pipe or the tq converter houseing WALK AWAY.
