1994 Chevrolet Blazer Tahoe LT from North America - Comments

What things have gone wrong with the car?

EGR valve went in and out for the first 2 years, had it opened up and blown out. The dealer said the mechanic found a little carbon buildup, but used his finger to clean it out. Must have worked because I haven't had a problem since (5 months now).

I, too, had the heater core leak into the cabin. This was a tough one because I never sit in the passenger seat and my interior is black. Never knew it until I took it to a mechanic and he found the passenger floor soaked! This cost $700 to fix - about $50 for the part and the rest in 5hrs of labor (you have to take the dashboard completely apart to get to the heater core).

Last weekend the power door lock on the driver side died. That's very annoying, but not the end of the world.

The rear defroster has never worked, I've been too lazy to figure out why. From reading here, it's probably where the cable is bent by the box on the tailgate window.

Water pump went out on it, had that replaced.

The coolant will be all brown and thick, presumably from rust, every 6 months. Yes, I use the correct coolant.

Replaced the brake pads for the first time at 100,000 miles. Not bad, very cheap and easy job.

General comments?

I am definitely not going to buy anything from Chevy again. This is my first and last Chevy!

94 S-10 Blazer V6, I have 265,000 miles on it, water pump has been replaced, clutch wore out at 250,000 miles. still driving it 140 miles a day commuting. The heater core just started leaking into the passenger side, probably cause I overfilled the radiator the day before. The S-10 pickup I had before went 270,00 before dieing. Had a friend that put 310,000 on his S-10 blazer before trading it in.

Long live S-10s cause they do!

I own 1994 Chevy S10 Blazer Tahoe LT... it has 50,000 original miles on it and I have had to replace the heater core, both front electric window motors. For the most part this is a tough truck, garnet and khaki paint job, oversized tires and clean as a pin. First 10,000 takes it.
