2001 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America

"Terrible design, terrible truck, don't waste your money"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I should preface these remarks with the fact that I did own a GM truck before, and had a few problems. (They definitely don't seem to be built like a rock). The durability of my previous truck was sub par. But, I come from a GM family, so I overlooked it, until now.

The first problem arose within a couple of weeks. The inside panel near the rear seat began to rattle. The dealer took care of that without a hitch. However, over the last few weeks, I have noticed a humming noise which has gotten increasingly louder. I took it to a family friend, and he told me that he has seen my vehicle's problem arise almost systematically. The wheel hub is deteriorating rapidly, and, of course the warranty has just recently expired. I have only had my vehicle 18 months, and the service department gave me the same answer it sounds like many of the other unfortunate customers of the Blazer got. "We haven't seen that problem more often than any other problem here in the shop." After reading these testimonials, and some from other sources, I am convinced that that GM has blatantly ignored the vulnerable position they have put their customers in. It is very disappointing.

General comments?

In addition to the obvious engineering flaws, the tires on all new Chevy's fall apart too fast, and the huge metal bar in the blind spot is absolutely stupid.
