1995 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America

"Great SUV when running good, but is plagued with design flaws"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Replaced both O2 sensors, EGR valve twice, plugs 4 times, wires twice, cap and rotor, catiylic converter, 3 mufflers, 3 fuel filters and the fuel pressure regulator.

Other items include water pump, batteries, front end repair, fuel lines, rear wiper motor quit, side is falling off, ignition in the column burnt up, etc.

General comments?

I've experienced just about everything that has been listed on this forum. Expect the bursting oil lines. Which I'll be looking into this weekend, thanks for the heads up. I just want to get the word out there that you need to check your fuel pressure regulator. It has a gasket that goes bad and causes most of the problems on the 1995 blazers. It was the cause of everything listed in the first grouping above. It leaks raw fuel into your intake manifold making the engine run very rich. Mine was leaking so bad my oil level increased (3 mechanics couldn't figure it out). To the gentleman that said all you need to is check under hood once in a while should seek medical help. I take very good care of my cars and trucks. I ran a 1986 Somerset until had 176,000 miles, a 1986 Olds delta 88 until had 186,000 miles, and currently have a 1994 Olds cutlass supreme with 156,000 miles. This Blazer has been plagued with problems from the get go. To check the fuel pressure regulator take off the plastic cover that reads "Vortec". Under this cover is round device which controls your air flow. Pull this off gently, get a small flashlight and look around in your manifold. If you see a clean spot and smell fuel you most likely have a bad gasket in your fuel pressure regulator. Good luck. I have only ever ownd GM and will continue just be careful of the first year run of new designs. One postive this blazer will pull anything in 4 wheel low as long as it has traction.
