2001 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America
"Decent looking inside and out, but too expensive to run"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Vehicle performed very well, but it appears I have had a large amount of issues.
Oil Cooler hoses leaking severely - replaced at 100,000km.
Original Tires worn - replaced at 105,000km.
Pitman and Idler arms worn - replaced 107,000km.
High-pressure power steering cooler line blew - replaced at 107,500km.
Still requires major tune up. Up-wards of $500. Trouble code "Random cylinder misfire" detected.
General comments?
Was in great shape mechanically and reasonably stylish.
Wish it was a four (4) door and not two (2)
Not a fan of the spare tire gate, as it limits rear window visibility.
Parts are usually dealer only parts which is an expensive endeavor.
Maintenance appears to be so much more critical with this vehicle as there are several engineering flaws with different components, which GM has still not addressed, eg (oil cooler lines, transmissions, upper/lower ball joints.)
Had a cross-country adventure and towed a heavy trailer. Got me to my destination, but at a price.
Terrible on gas :- (
